Comprehensive routine wellness exams and preventative care to keep your pet healthy and happy at every stage of life.

Immunizations are as important for the health of your pets as they are for your children. Today’s vaccines are safe and effective against such life-threatening diseases as rabies, distemper, parvo virus, Lyme disease and feline leukemia. Our pharmacy is stocked with a full line of pharmaceuticals as well as flea, tick and heartworm control products. We also carry a full line of Hill’s prescription diet pet foods. We have the capability to tattoo or microchip your pet and scan for microchips.

The diagnostic equipment at Cambria Veterinary Care is the latest available. Digital radiography is used to diagnose many medical and surgical conditions in addition to revealing fractures and other abnormalities. Many lab tests such as blood chemistry profiles and fecal exams are done in-house, enabling us to provide clients with fast, accurate results.

At Cambria Veterinary Care, we recognize that it is never easy to submit our beloved pets to surgical procedures. So, we try to make the process as stress and pain-free as possible for both the client and the animal. Our Veterinarians take the time to explain all available treatment options so that the client can make an informed decision about what is best for his or her pet. If surgery is deemed necessary, the client will be guided through the process step-by-step both pre-op and post-op. The patient will be monitored throughout the procedure and made as comfortable as possible, with pain management a top priority.

Dental hygiene is as important to the health of our pets as it is to us. We know that plaque build-up can be unsightly and painful, but studies show that dental disease can lead to serious systemic problems that can be life-threatening. Dogs and cats can develop significant gum disease by the age of three. Dental services include sedation, an oral exam and plaque removal by deep root scaling.

At Cambria Veterinary Care, we are happy to see emergencies whenever possible during regular office hours. Unfortunately, emergencies rarely occur when it’s convenient. Veterinary practices in Cambria County participate in a rotating on-call schedule to handle emergencies. If you call the number for Cambria Veterinary Care during non-operating hours, you will hear a message that gives you the phone number of the on-call practice, as well as referrals to emergency clinics outside the area.

Having family or friends care for your exotic pets while you’re away can be stressful. We conveniently offer boarding services for birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. That way, you can be worry-free when going out of town, and know that your pets are well cared for! Please call us at 814-288-8821 for more information.
