About Dr. Zoey

Dr. Zoey Zentkovich grew up in Johnstown and Westmont and came home to practice after earning her DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2026. Before veterinary school she graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a bachelor of arts in environmental science and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She treats cats and dogs, with a special interest in dermatology, ophthalmology and surgery, and older dogs with metabolic disease like hypothyroidism or Cushing's are among her most rewarding cases, because the right medication can make a huge change in how they feel.

Cats are her favorite patients, and she thinks they're misunderstood. What she enjoys most is helping owners and animals communicate: plenty of owners know something is wrong without knowing what, and she loves bridging that gap. She sees her role as giving owners her honest opinion and perspective so they can make an informed decision.

Practicing here, she especially enjoys the education side of tick season. So many local owners already know ticks and tick-borne illness firsthand that she can have real conversations about how those diseases affect their pets and how to prevent them.

At home she has two dogs, Murphy and Feldman, and two cats, Pebbles and Bam Bam. Away from the clinic she likes hiking, puzzles, movies, a good meal and time with her family, her fiancée, Shawn, and their animals.

On preventive care

“Preventative care saves lives just as much as intense intervention once an animal is already in a diseased state.”
